LaPlata is now an 18 hole course. The back nine has several ponds that make it tougher for the average golfer to play par golf. But with the ponds the back nine is shorter in distance than the front nine. The front nine is just about the prettiest course around. They play well and the course is well maintained. It is nice to have an affordable course in a town so close to a college like Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri.
